The semifinalists for the 2012 James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef awards were just announced and we’re happy to see some familiar names on the list!
- Outstanding Pastry Chef: Yasmin Lozada-Hissom (Olivea)
- Outstanding Restauranteur: Frank Bonanno (Bonanno Concepts)
- Outstanding Wine Program: Frasca Food and Wine
As for the venerable category of “Best Chef: Southwest,” we have three local favorites:
- Mark Fischer (Restaurant Six89)
- Jennifer Jasinski (Rioja)
- Alex Seidel (Fruition Restaurant)
The finalists are announced on March 19 so you’ve got a few weeks to dine in and wish ‘em all luck.
