Every year, we all have to deal with this weird transitional season.
The days are still pretty warm and Summery, but we can all feel these cool nights creeping in (the Farm received it's first MINOR frost last night, ugh.).
We do our best to keep bringing in unique specialty items that are still in season, and this is the first week where we've had a plethora of stunning items from both Summer's End and Fall's Inauguration, making for a truly remarkable selection.
The Western Slope is bringing us better and better items every week.
If you've yet to try the Honeycrisps from Berg Harvest out of Paonia (18.5 Brix!), you are really missing out. And of course, the Elephant Heart Plums from Plum Daisy are my top five items I look forward to every year. We are the only ones in Colorado to carry these.
I just took a bite of this Asian Pear from White Buffalo, and I had to stop writing so I could finish the whole thing. Just wow. We've waited two seasons for these to come back. When I first started at Grower's Organic, this was one of the first items I tasted. I said, "That's the best pear I've ever tasted. If this is what Grower's Organic is all about, then I'm ok with that."
